Gopal is Creative Director (Copy) and digital head at Tailor.
Before joining Tailor in 2012, Gopal worked in Leo Burnett, McCann and Ogilvy.
While most copywriters leaf through advertising books, Gopal roams through the streets of Mumbai with a camera in hand looking for insights.
A chef by training, Gopal fell in love with advertising at the start of the new millennium. He soon shifted from Bangalore to Mumbai, at a time when India was making a paradigm shift from traditional to digital media.
Gopal has written successful campaigns for a whole bunch of clients across consumer segments. To see some of his past work, click here.
Gopal doesn’t think much of getting inspired by fads in advertising. It is his belief, that ideas work best when they are born from genuine insights on how people use and relate to brands, products and services.
Gopal is also an award-winning street photographer and has been nominated Best Online Photojournalist at the inaugural TS Sathyan Memorial Photojournalism Awards for his ongoing photography project titled Mumbai Paused which documents life in the big city.
